Promise Farm Summer Program 2003
Summer 2003 we will be having our second annual Summer Program at
Promise Farm!  Students will come for half a day and have courses in
German, Art, Voice, and of course Equestrian skills, including horseback
riding and horse care.
The Summer Program at Promise Farm is designed to be unique,
encompassing the fun and outdoor adventure of camp programs, but along
with challenging educational enrichment. Staff includes certified teachers,
college professors and experts in their fields, who teach from a Christian
perspective. This year’s program will be similar in format to 2002, but also
with new subjects, making it suitable for both first time and returning
friends.
The location is our private farm and home in Jenison, Michigan.  The
program is designed and run by Shannon Flynn, a certified school teacher.
She has experience teaching in private Christian schools, public shools,
and also works as a consultant to home schoolers.  She is an experienced
horse trainer and riding instructor.  All courses will be taught from a
Christian perspective, with  daily Bible verses, learned in both German and
English.
Miss Jodi Doktor is also a certified teacher, professor at Community
College, horsewoman, and a private voice and piano instructor from
Chicago. She is also a classical singer herself, speaks German and French,
and will be performing in an Opera this year in Europe. We are very
excited to ad her talents to our program this year, she also has a kind heart
and exuberant love for children. Miss Doktor will be teaching German and
voice in the Program.
Cost is $200 per session, with $100 due with application, and the final half
by April 30th. We fill up fast, so please call or email and verify that we
have room for you before sending in your application and deposit. This
year, we will be accepting boys and girls, ages 7-12, exceptions may be
considered on an individual basis.  There is a nonrefundable $25
processing fee for cancellations, however other moneys paid will be
refunded upon filling your space, usually not a problem since we have a
waiting list.
We are very excited to see everyone this year at the farm and also expect
two brand new foals to be born in May and July, all part of the learning!
To make this experience possible for even more children, we will again be
offering a limited number of scholarships.  This will be based on need,
and will require an age appropriate essay from the student, as to why they
would like to be part of our program.  Contact us for more details.
